For many people, news is a regular part of life. An issue indispute is whether newspapers, in the era of Internet, will remain the mostessential source in informing us of issues happening in the world. Whilst Iagree newspapers will still have a place, I believe Internet can excelnewspapers in many ways.
承认:
Admittedly, newspapers still play a crucial role as the newstellers. The key reason lies in the fact that news agencies, especially thebigger ones, under the censorship from governments, have reputation forpresenting the news reasonably objectively. Besides, newspaper companies alwayshire qualified journalists who are investigative, and editors who are able toseek out information and opinions to present to subscribers. Thus newspaperbuyers can usually find facts and even truth from the printed news. Bycontrast, Internet, nowadays, is notorious for proliferating fake news and evenrumours, as everyone can post information online and some of them deliberatelyexaggerate the reality or make up stories in order to catch people’s attention.
转折:
However, this does not automatically mean that newspapers canstill maintain the dominate position in telling people what is happening on theEarth. After all, there are an increasing number of people preferring theInternet-based news than the paper-based ones. One of the most obviousarguments in its favour is that the overwhelming efficiency of Internet ensuresthat the breaking news can be uploaded within a second. As a result, it isfeasible for the online readers to get access to the latest information, whichenables them to make instant decisions. For example, stockholders, afterreceiving the predictions about the market provided by the professionalsonline, can immediately trade in or out of stocks in order to acquire the mostdesired result.
